What Are The Signs Of Dirty Gutters?
There are two signs to watch out for that tell you your gutters need cleaning.
Firstly the obvious, visually you will notice the dirt start to build up, especially with white uPVC guttering. This is usually noticeable from ground level.
The second symptom is overflowing gutters in heavier rain. This will cause walls and other surfaces underneath the problem sections of guttering to get far wetter than they should, possibly even taking far longer than normal to dry out once the rain subsides.
In addition, you might notice green or brown mouldy growths on the underside of guttering, caused by overflowing rain carrying dirt and grime from inside the trough.
If you’re noticing any of these symptoms, you’ve already got blockages beginning to form, impeding the rain from draining efficiently.
